Job summary

LabCorp in Rochester, MI is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Henry Ford Rochester. The role supports specimen testing and operates with a 3x8 schedule; weekdays with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities include determining specimen acceptability, performing procedures, maintaining instruments, troubleshooting, validating reagents, reporting results, and ensuring safety and quality with proper PPE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
