Job summary

University of Washington's UW Medicine DLMP in Seattle seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) 2 for the Phlebotomy & Specimen Processing Services (PSPS) team at Harborview Medical Center. The role coordinates preanalytical and technical activities for send-out testing and handles specimen-related problem resolution.

The CLT 2 will also engage in CLT 1 duties, including phlebotomy and specimen collection, while supporting residents and CAST. Evening shift, 100% FTE, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of chemical, clinical, or public health lab experience.
• MA-P certification required or obtained within 180 days of start date.
• Desirable: associate or bachelor’s degree in science; LIS and EHR experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate send-out workflow and ensure proper processing and shipping of tests.
• Perform CLT1 duties including phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed.
• Maintain reference lab relationships and communicate collection instructions to patients.
• Monitor lab reports, keep records organized, and ensure compliant documentation.
• Assist in problem resolution for mislabeled or missing specimens and escalate appropriately.
