Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Scientist at Presbyterian Hospital in New Mexico. The role covers weekends and rotating holidays with on-call responsibilities. The position involves performing waived, moderate, or high complexity tests, equipment maintenance, QA data collection, and participation in POCT oversight.

Candidates enter LS I–IV bands per CLIA regulations. Training and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team are expected to ensure quality patient testing.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform waived, moderate or high complexity testing.
• Strong QA/QC practices and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to participate in training and regulatory activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate or high complexity laboratory tests under supervision.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair laboratory equipment as needed.
• Run quality control testing and document results for QA purposes.
• Monitor QC trends and take corrective action as directed.
• Participate in POCT oversight and training activities.
• Assist with inventory, ordering supplies and training new staff.
• Interface with internal/external customers and coordinate with supervisors.
