Job summary
Mountain View Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our laboratory team in Idaho Falls. The role includes performing chemistry, blood bank, hematology, microbiology, and immunology tests, ensuring result validity, and troubleshooting analyzers and equipment.
Qualified candidates hold a BS in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science with MLS/MT/CLS certification and a current BLS certification.
Qualifications
- BS in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or MLS/MT/CLS with national certification or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification is required.
- Experience or training in microbiology and blood banking is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine laboratory test procedures per SOPs and reports results.
- Maintains quality assurance and quality control procedures for all testing.
- Collects specimens with proper patient identification and safety policies.
- Operates and troubleshoots lab equipment and analyzers; reports malfunctions.
- Rotates through chemistry, blood bank, hematology, coagulation, and microbiology as needed.
- Trains staff and students; participates in quality management activities.
- Communicates clinical information and test results to healthcare teams.
