Southern California Hospitals is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform standardized and specialized analyses across Chemistry, Immunology, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology and Blood Bank. You ensure accurate, reliable, and timely test results for patient care.

You will support communications across the hospital, maintain quality control, and participate in process improvements while adhering to HIPAA, safety, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Current California CLS license.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the hospital.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Willingness to work variable shifts and overtime.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only).
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science/Biological Science or Equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Perform laboratory testing, quality control measures, and distribution of test results of biological specimens accurately and timely.
• Adhere to quality control policies; document calibrations and maintenance.
• Participate in process improvement and ensure turnaround time guidelines.
• Show empathy and understanding for patients and families.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues affecting test performance and report to supervisor.
• Follow procedures for handling and disposal of specimens and reagents.
• Accurately process tests, report results, and maintain records.
• Maintain proficiency testing samples handled like patient specimens.
