The role requires a BS in a biological or chemical science per CLIA, with preferred certifications and experience in diverse lab disciplines.

International Medical Laboratory Scientist certification preferred.
Blood Banking certification preferred.
Chemistry - ASCP certification preferred.
Clinical Laboratory Scientist certification preferred.
Clinical Laboratory Technologist certification preferred.
Molecular Biology Technologist certification preferred.
Medical Laboratory Scientist/Med Technologist certification preferred.
Medical Technologist AMT certification preferred.
Technologist in Microbiology certification preferred.
Specialist in Hematology certification preferred.
Specialist in Microbiology certification preferred.
Histotechnologist certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs and reports waived, moderately complex, and highly complex test procedures on patient specimens adhering to SOPs to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Provides excellent patient care through clinical correlation of results, identification of bias patterns, rapid notification of caregivers of critical values, and testing within turn-around-time limits.
Ensures major automated equipment is operational by performing maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting; includes contacting instrument vendors for assistance or repair.
Performs required calibration and quality control procedures and maintains records to ensure tests are within established parameters.
Performs proficiency testing as assigned and reviews results with laboratory clinical leaders.
Assists in evaluation and generation of compliant documentation for validation of new procedures and equipment to provide physicians with current laboratory technology.
