Job summary

IU Health in Carmel, IN, is seeking either a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join the night shift on a full-time basis. The role includes performing and interpreting tests, maintaining quality control, and supporting a 24/7 laboratory environment.

Qualified candidates may come from MLS/CLS/MT or MLT backgrounds with the appropriate degree and certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLT requires knowledge of laboratory techniques, testing equipment and QC procedures.
• Must maintain quality control records and use computer systems to enter and retrieve data.
• Certification or eligibility for board certification (ASCP/AMT/NCA or equivalent) within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret laboratory tests on patient specimens.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and QC/QA documentation.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain routine laboratory equipment.
• Comply with all safety regulations and SOPs; may train staff and students where applicable.
