Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join its Core Lab and Blood Bank teams in New Jersey. Under supervision of a CLIA General Supervisor, you will process specimens, perform high/moderate complexity testing, troubleshoot issues, and report accurate results, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality control.

This Generalist role requires collaboration with multiple teams to support patient care, with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and efficiency in a hospital laboratory

Qualifications

• Meets CLIA high-complexity requirements as listed.
• Minimum 1 year healthcare or lab experience preferred.
• ASCP/AMT or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and accessioning: evaluate acceptability and reject per guidelines.
• Perform high/moderate complexity testing per SOPs.
• Report results with clinical correlation as applicable.
• Operate and troubleshoot lab equipment per SOPs.
• Maintain quality control, calibration, and maintenance logs.
• Participate in proficiency testing and ensure proper sample handling.
• Manage inventory and ensure supply expiration dates are monitored.
• Assist with training of team members and students.
• Follow Atlantic Health safety procedures.
