Job summary

BayCare Health System in New Port Richey invites a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Coordinator to lead overnight laboratory operations at Morton Plant North Bay. You will supervise staff, ensure accurate diagnostics, and maintain regulatory compliance during the 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM shift.

You will coordinate quality management, training, and performance data while supporting the manager on-call. A Florida CLS license and a biology-related degree are required for this leadership role.

Qualifications

• Clinical laboratory experience required.
• Florida CLS license required.
• Leadership experience preferred for supervisory duties.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and leading daily laboratory operations, including scheduling and supervisory duties as required
• Prioritizing, delegating, and overseeing all phases of the laboratory process
• Ensuring all laboratory policies, procedures, and established processes are followed
• Overseeing quality assurance and quality management programs and addressing deviations as appropriate
• Ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory agencies and system-wide requirements, including proficiency testing
• Overseeing laboratory education and training, including orientation, competency documentation, and serving as trainer, preceptor, mentor, and resource
• Assisting with gathering and monitoring data to achieve laboratory performance goals
• Supporting additional operational duties during manager or supervisor absences, including staffing coordination and meeting attendance

Role Overview

Licensure / Certification
