Astria Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant - Phlebotomist to join our team! This position is located at our Astria Sunnyside Hospital in the Laboratory Department.

Shifts: 8 hour night shift - More information will provided during the interview.

What you get to do every day!

As the Clinical Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist, this role p erforms accurate and timely pre-analytical functions of patient identification, blood and body fluid specimen collection, labeling and processing. you will:

• Performing applicable blood collection techniques such as venipuncture and capillary collection.
• Explaining venipuncture procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process.
• Preparing the patient for the blood draw.
• Responsible for accurate and timely pre-analytical functions of specimen collection, labeling, receipt and processing.
• Completing and maintaining competency in specimen processing and packing, phlebotomy and client services.
• Assists in the pre-analytical and analytical phases of select testing.
• Upholds laboratory compliance and accreditation through adherence to established department policies and procedures, safety standards and infection control standards.
• Produce and reports accurate and reliable patient results
• Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.
• Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization.

Requirements

• High School Graduation or GED from an accredited education institution
• Coursework/Training: Completion of a formal Phlebotomy Training Program
• Upon Hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification (MA-P)
• Upon Hire: Current BCLS certification
