HOURS: 1930-2230. Training will be full-time on 2nd shift for 8 weeks, and a Regular Class during 1st shift is part of this training. Once trained, the position requires every other weekend and holiday rotations, as well as on-call rotations.
Position Summary: This role is responsible for the accurate, precise, and timely logistics of laboratory specimens from inpatient and outpatient areas. Duties include patient registration, insurance verification, lab test ordering, labeling specimens, distributing patient reports, filing, and assisting with questions regarding Laboratory services and customer service expectations. The position involves rapid movement of clinical specimens from critical, emergency, and acute care patients into the lab, supporting overall laboratory and hospital functions to ensure test results are not compromised.
