Job summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking a laboratory professional to support test development and validation across molecular pathology, clinical genomics, chemistry, and microbiology. The role includes developing procedures, reviewing work, and teaching both internal staff and external partners.

Responsibilities include ensuring safe operation, performing complex tests, validating new assays, and contributing to IT integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Experience levels vary by degree: 4 years for Bachelor, 2 years for Master, 1 year for Ph.D.
• CLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety, health, regulatory requirements and hospital SOPs.
• Conducts statistical analysis of tests and interprets results across chemistry, biology, microbiology.
• Develops validation plans with Medical Director for new assays.
• Oversees validation and IT integration for new instruments and tests.
• Authors and reviews laboratory SOPs and provides training as needed.
• Acts as a technical resource and guides test ordering decisions.
