Job summary

Qualifications

• Conduct analyses using clinical laboratory techniques in hematology, chemistry, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology or related laboratory specialties.
• Perform clinical laboratory tests of varying complexity using standard procedures to provide information for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease.
• Maintain and verify the functionality of analytical instruments and perform operational checks to ensure accurate assay performance and reliable results.
• Lead validation/verification of laboratory instruments/assays and complete validation reports/summaries.
• Develop, review, and update laboratory policies and procedures and prepare for regulatory/accreditation surveys.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource to internal hospital staff and external entities; educate and develop teaching protocols/curriculums.
• Adhere to safety/health regulatory requirements and the hospital's policies and service standards.
• Act as designee in the absence of supervisor or manager and rotate as weekend lead.
• Participate in quality improvement projects and assist with quality assurance activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
