Job summary

Stanford Health Care seeks a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to support hospital staff and external entities. The role involves developing policies and teaching curriculums, reviewing technical work, and solving complex problems.

You will educate internally and externally as requested while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across chemistry, biology, microbiology and related lab sciences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Four years of progressive, related work experience.
• Knowledge of chemistry, biology, microbiology and related laboratory sciences.
• Familiarity with laboratory controls, methods, procedures and regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory tests of varying complexity using standard procedures.
• Evaluate and interpret test results relative to guidelines and references.
• Maintain and check electronic/analytical equipment to ensure accurate results.
• Provide consultation on test appropriateness and interpretation of results.
• Act as a technical resource; assist with training and mentorship; rotate as weekend lead.
