Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a skilled laboratory professional to perform routine and complex analyses on clinical specimens, ensuring accuracy and quality across multiple sections of the lab. This role includes oversight and mentoring of ALT, MLT, phlebotomists, students, and new staff, with a focus on continuous education and adherence to regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in ASCP eligible program.
Certification required within specified timelines for PA or NY locations.
1–2 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of routine and complex procedures using established criteria to provide quality clinical information.
Operates, calibrates, checks, and maintains instrumentation; monitors quality control.
Provides oversight and mentors ALT, MLT, phlebotomists, students, and new staff to ensure accuracy and quality.
Acts as a consultant to medical laboratory technicians and providers; participates in continuing education.
May collect and process patient specimens in accordance with policies and procedures.
