Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a laboratory professional who independently performs routine and highly complex analyses on clinical specimens in one or more sections of the laboratory. This role requires verification of analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and linearity for test methods and ongoing attention to quality information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an ASCP-eligible program or equivalent.
• If located in Pennsylvania, MLS/MT/CS ASCP certification required within 1 year.
• If located in New York, Clinical Laboratory Technologist certification required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex procedures to provide quality clinical information.
• Operates, calibrates, checks, and maintains instrumentation; ensures quality control.
• Provides oversight and mentors ALT, MLT, phlebotomists, students and new employees to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Serves as a consultant to medical laboratory technicians and healthcare providers; participates in continuing education.
• May collect and process patient specimens.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
