Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a Laboratory Technologist who will perform high and moderate to high complexity assays, phlebotomy, and specimen processing to deliver accurate results and support patient care across multiple lab sections.

The role requires knowledge of LIS, quality control, and CAP/JCAHO/OSHA compliance, with the ability to work independently, maintain instrument readiness, and communicate effectively with healthcare providers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in medical laboratory science or CLIA-aligned equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and LIS terminology.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Procure, prepare and process specimens using approved techniques.
• Perform phlebotomy in accordance with procedures and customer service needs.
• Receive specimens into LIS, verify orders and communicate priorities.
• Validate test orders and specimen documentation for accuracy.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain instruments; document QC and variances.
• Possess two+ lab area knowledge and correlate results with clinical data.
