Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine in Hellertown is hiring a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician to perform high or moderate complexity testing in accordance with SOPs. You will work Sunday through Saturday 9am–9pm with rotating weekends and holidays, applying independent judgment and collaborating with healthcare professionals.

You will diagnose and report results, participate in CSI and training, handle specimen collection, maintain quality control, and ensure adherence to CLIA requirements.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for high complexity testing.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical documents.
• Strong math ability including probability, statistics, geometry and trigonometry.
• Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with Word processing, Spreadsheets, E-mail, LIS.
• Certifications by recognized certifying agencies preferred (ASCP, ASMT, NCA).

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs high, moderate, or waived laboratory testing per SOPs.
• Recognizes and corrects instrument malfunctions and records troubleshooting.
• Confirms, verifies and reports test results.
• Monitors results for reasonableness and critical values.
• Interprets data and assists physicians.
• Performs quality control and performance improvement activities.
• Provides clinical orientation and training for new staff.
• Prepares and collects specimens for analysis.
• Participates in CSI and continuing education programs.
• Performs competency for high complexity testing as delegated.
