Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our team in Burlington, NC. The role supports specimen testing and operates laboratory instruments under supervision, with comprehensive new-grad training provided.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, with preferred candidates having 3+ months of lab testing experience and ASCP or AMT certification. The position follows a Tuesday–Saturday 12:30am–9:00am schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a chemical/biological science relevant to clinical lab testing.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred but not required at entry level.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing following SOPs.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies.
• Assist with processing of specimens as needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
