Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our Mass Spec team located in Burlington, NC. The role runs Thursday through Sunday, 2:00pm to 12:30am, with responsibilities including specimen acceptability, routine and complex testing, instrument troubleshooting, and reporting results to support quality patient care.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or clinical lab field.
• 3 months of clinical laboratory testing experience preferred.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
