Job summary

Emerus is seeking a Laboratory Technician to provide technical assistance and patient care in nights PRN shifts across our network. You will perform tests, collect specimens, and support the Laboratory Director and consultants.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, BLS, and state licenses or eligibility; travel to multiple facility locations is common; proficiency with phlebotomy and EKG is a plus, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological/Physical Sciences or Medical Laboratory Science is required.
• Current BLS certification through AHA or ARC is required.
• Experience with core lab testing and adherence to protocols preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests across laboratory areas per protocols to ensure compliance.
• Collect and process specimens following established procedures.
• Conduct quality control, preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot instruments.
• Validate results and assist with QA issues.
• Maintain safety, infection control, and patient privacy standards.
• Coordinate pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic lab activities with leadership.
• Assist with patient care activities within license scope, including phlebotomy and EKG when needed.
