Job summary

Excela Health in Latrobe is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform high-complexity assays across multiple areas. You will handle specimen processing, phlebotomy, QC, instrument maintenance and data interpretation to support timely patient care.

The role requires an AS or higher in clinical laboratory science or medical technology, CLIA high complexity training, strong communication and leadership skills, and familiarity with LIS/HIS and Microsoft Office. CAP/JCAHO readiness is emphasized.

Qualifications

• AS or higher in chemical/physical/biological/clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Equivalent CLIA 88 training for high complexity testing.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and LIS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook).
• Strong leadership, organization, independent thinking and judgement.
• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly.

Responsibilities

• Procure, prepare and process specimens using approved techniques.
• Perform phlebotomy per procedures and customer service standards.
• Receive specimens into LIS, verify orders and priorities.
• Validate test orders and ensure required documentation.
• Perform QC, maintenance and instrument adjustments as needed.
• Interpret results and communicate findings to providers.
