Job summary

Advocate Health’s Concord Laboratory is seeking a skilled technologist to perform testing procedures, prepare reagents, and manage supplies in a fast-paced clinical environment. The role supports patient care with adherence to QA guidelines and effective shift communication.

The ideal candidate holds MT/MLS with ASCP registry eligibility and has hematology/oncology and phlebotomy experience; MT/ASCP certification within one year is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, MT, MLS or equivalent registry eligible.
• MT (ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) or equivalent required within one year of hire.
• Looking for techs with hematology/oncology experience as well as phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing procedures per QA guidelines and documents corrective actions for non-conforming events.
• Prepares reagents and maintains supply for test procedures; manages inventory to reduce waste.
• Assesses priorities, troubleshoots test systems, and coordinates with specialists as needed.
• Reviews and revises procedures to meet accreditation and regulatory requirements (CAP, TJC, OSHA).
• Maintains real-time communications with shift leadership about issues affecting patient care.
• Participates in planning changes via staff meetings and projects.
• Participates in competency assessment program where qualified.
