Experience in hematology/oncology and phlebotomy is preferred. The position emphasizes adherence to testing procedures, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements (CAP, TJC, OSHA) while maintaining strong communication with leadership and colleagues to ensure reliable patient care

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MT/MLS or equivalent registry eligible.
• ASCP MT/MLS or equivalent registry eligible within one year of hire.
• Hematology/Oncology experience and phlebotomy experience are valued.

Responsibilities

• Follows testing procedures and QA guidelines; documents corrective actions for non-conforming events.
• Prepares reagents and maintains test supplies; manages inventory to reduce waste and costs.
• Exhibits clinical judgment to prioritize issues and escalates test-system problems via appropriate channels.
• Supports procedure review and accreditation documentation, ensuring CAP, TJC, OSHA compliance.
• Maintains real-time shift communication with leadership on issues affecting patient care or operations.
• Participates in planning and implementing changes via meetings and projects.
• Participates in competency assessment program where qualified.
