Job summary

Concord Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests on blood and body fluids. You will report to the technical section supervisor and help ensure accurate lab data for patient care.

Responsibilities include performing assays, quality control, instrument maintenance, training staff, and supporting implementation of new procedures. Certification through MLT(ASCP) or eligibility is required within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Two years of formal training beyond high school (e.g., Associates Degree).
• Certification required to obtain: MLT(ASCP) or eligible; must certify within 1 year of hire.
• None required.

Responsibilities

• Performs, interprets, documents, and reports clinical laboratory diagnostic assays.
• Performs quality control procedures and maintains records.
• Checks and maintains equipment; performs preventive maintenance.
• Ensures adequate reagent supplies and proper storage.
• Trains and mentors Medical Technologists and Technicians.
• Acts as technical resource and assists with new procedures and instrumentation.
