Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join the team at Columbia St Mary’s Milwaukee in Milwaukee, WI. The position operates on a 2nd shift schedule and involves performing routine and complex laboratory testing, monitoring instrumentation, and ensuring quality patient care.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science or MLS with 1+ year of clinical lab experience. Strong attention to detail, communication and computer proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• Ability to pass a color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and QC procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
