Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technician to ensure proper collection of specimens and assist in delivery to the performing lab. The role supports patient care in a CAP-accredited lab and offers a relocation and commitment bonus.

Shift is Monday-Friday 11am-7:30pm; requires phlebotomy skills, specimen processing, and safety compliance. On-site position with opportunities to contribute to diagnostic testing and education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; phlebotomy training recommended.
• Clinical laboratory experience preferred; national certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures as assigned.
• Collect blood specimens and ensure proper delivery to the correct lab.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure specimen labeling.
• Follow quality control, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Communicate professionally with patients and staff.
