St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System is seeking a phlebotomist to collect blood specimens from adult patients in a busy hospital setting. You will prioritize accuracy, patient care, and timely specimen processing while coordinating multiple tests and maintaining quality controls.

The role requires 2 years of phlebotomy experience, an AMT certification or eligibility, and an associates degree preferred. Strong communication, empathy, and active listening are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• 2 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Licensing: AMT - Required; ASCP BOC - Preferred; AAB Certification not recognized; certification within 1 year of employment.

Responsabilidades

• Organizes daily workload to achieve acceptable performance outcomes, adapting to changes and staying proactive.
• Processes patient specimens with proper identification to ensure clinicians receive correct results.
• Coordinates simultaneous tests/procedures with complete accuracy using non-automated and automated equipment.
• Performs designated quality control and interprets results; escalation for abnormal data per policy.
• Performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance, documents issues, and notifies supervisor as needed.
