Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required and additional clinical training in phlebotomy preferred.
• Completion of an approved phlebotomy training program or higher health-related degree is required.
• Phlebotomy Certification (valid) is preferred.
• Two years' experience in specimen collection or related field is acceptable.
• Color acuity screening test is required for all applicants.
• Clinical rotations or training in a Northside Hospital Lab are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Handles laboratory data collection systems and equipment to ensure proper order, cancellation, and charging for tests.
• Performs specimen collection procedures for inpatients and outpatients.
• Performs non-technical specimen processing and distribution of specimens to appropriate areas.
