Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine in Allentown is seeking a capable Technical Assistant to support specimen processing and laboratory testing across multiple departments with on-site responsibilities. The role requires following SOPs, entering results into the LIS, performing basic quality checks, and assisting in training new staff.

You will help maintain supplies, respond to STAT requests, and coordinate with technologists and customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; AS degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Graduate of health/medical assistant or similar program.
• Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for moderate complexity testing.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens for transport and analysis.
• Performs CLIA classified moderately complex testing under supervision.
• Calibrates pipettes and thermometers; records data.
• Performs basic quality control for moderate complexity testing.
• Maintains inventory and reagents; restocks as needed.
• Documents results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Assists in competency reviews and CSI activities.
