Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine is seeking a Technical Assistant to support the ACL Cedar Crest laboratory in Allentown. The role involves preparing specimens, performing moderately complex testing under supervision, and maintaining accurate LIS entries.

Responsibilities include instrument checks, calibration, quality control, and assisting with staff training. The position requires attention to detail and adherence to SOPs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; AS degree preferred.
• Graduate of health/medical assistant or similar program.
• Ability to perform moderate complexity testing under supervision.
• Experience with lab data entry and quality control is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Processes and prepares specimens for transport and analysis.
• Performs CLIA moderately complex testing under direct supervision.
• Enter results into the Laboratory Information System and report results.
• Calibrates pipettes and thermometers per SOPs.
• Provides orientation and training to new staff as needed.
• Maintains inventory and participates in CSI activities.
