Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform a full range of lab procedures, including quality control, specimen collection, processing, and reporting of results. The role includes assisting in evaluating new techniques and training staff on equipment and software.

An associate degree in science and MLT certification (ASCP/AMT) are required or completed within the first year. One year of laboratory experience is preferred; new graduates may qualify with internships.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science, or medical laboratory or equivalent education or training
• MLT certification (ASCP or AMT) required or eligible
• One year experience as laboratory tech preferred; clinical internships may count

Responsibilities

• Perform all laboratory procedures including quality control, specimen processing, testing and reporting of results.
• Assist in evaluation of new or modified techniques when required.
• Provide orientation and training to other personnel on equipment and software as necessary.
