Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Laboratory Scientist to perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures, ensure quality control, and report results in a timely manner. This role supports orientation and training of personnel on equipment and software as necessary, with travel to local locations as needed.

Education requires a 2 Year / Associate Degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or equivalent, and ASCP/AMT certification eligibility.

Qualifications

Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or equivalent.
ASCP or AMT certification eligibility required/exceptional candidates eligible.
Ability to perform a full range of laboratory tests with accuracy.

Responsibilities

Performs routine and specialized laboratory procedures according to protocols and standards.
Performs quality control activities to ensure accuracy of testing.
Collects, receives, identifies, and processes laboratory specimens.
Performs testing and reports results in a timely manner.
Maintains documentation and records related to testing and quality control.
