Job summary

LabMinds Staffing & Recruiting, LLC seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to perform diagnostic testing across multiple laboratory disciplines in a patient-centered hospital environment. You will collect specimens, maintain QA/QC, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires ASCP/AMT certification, state licensure, and proficiency with LIS/HIS/EMR systems. Day shifts with a shared on-call rotation support emergency testing outside regular hours.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Technology, MLS or related field from an accredited program.
• Certification as MLT (ASCP/AMT or equivalent) and active licensure.
• Working knowledge of LIS/HIS/EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing across Urinalysis, Chemistry, Microbiology, Coagulation, Serology, Hematology, and Blood Bank using standard protocols.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and testing systems.
• Execute and document daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance schedules; maintain clean, sanitized work areas.
• Recognize technical malfunctions or testing deviations, initiate corrective actions, and withhold results until systems perform within acceptable limits.
• Apply Lean operational practices to daily bench workflows.
• Collect capillary, venous, and arterial blood specimens from patients across age groups; register patients in LIS.
• Review, validate, and enter orders into LIS with high accuracy.
• Properly label, process, centrifuge, store, and package specimens for transport to reference labs.
• Coordinate with reference laboratories to ensure testing quality, reporting timeliness, and accurate billing for send-out tests.
• Uphold HIPAA and patient privacy; ensure confidential information is protected.
