Job summary

LabMinds Staffing & Recruiting, LLC seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician / MT to join our laboratory team. The role performs a variety of clinical tests, communicates results, and maintains instruments with QC documentation to support accurate diagnoses and patient care.

Candidates must hold an active state license, ASCP or equivalent certification, and meet one of several education pathways (bachelor/master/doctorate in related field, or associate degree, or ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited program).

Responsibilities

• Perform, interpret, and correlate clinical laboratory tests per procedures.
• Communicate and document test results promptly for patient care decisions.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain instruments with QC documentation.
• Identify and resolve routine equipment issues; escalate complex malfunctions.
• Adhere to lab policies, safety standards, and accreditation guidelines.
• Participate in QA and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain professional knowledge and CEU requirements through continuing education.
• Attend departmental meetings and relevant educational programs.
• Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams.

Position Overview

We take pride in supporting quality healthcare for our community by providing timely, reliable laboratory services and fostering a patient-centered experience.The MLT/MT performs a variety of clinical laboratory procedures to assist physicians and healthcare providers in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient conditions. This role requires technical expertise, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of diagnostic quality and clinical care.Schedule & Availability

On-Call: Weekend call coverage is required.

Key Responsibilities

Perform, interpret, and correlate clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established procedures and protocols.

Accurately communicate and document test results in a timely manner to facilitate patient care decisions.

Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment while ensuring proper documentation of quality control (QC) activities.

Identify and resolve routine equipment issues, escalating complex malfunctions to the Laboratory Supervisor.

Adhere strictly to laboratory policies, procedures, safety standards, and accreditation/regulatory guidelines.

Participate actively in departmental quality assurance (QA) and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Maintain professional knowledge, technical competency, and CEU requirements through ongoing continuing education.

Attend departmental meetings, in-service training sessions, and relevant educational programs.

Collaborate closely with providers, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary healthcare team members.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

Licensure & Certification

Current, active state clinical laboratory personnel license where the laboratory is located.

ASCP certification (or equivalent national credential) is required.

Education (Must meet one of the following criteria)

Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological Science, or Chemical Science from an accredited institution; OR

Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution; OR

Successful completion of an accredited clinical laboratory training program approved by ABHES, CAAHEP, HHS, or a recognized accrediting body.

Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an integrated laboratory team.
