Job summary

Responsibilities include maintaining instruments, documenting procedures, and reporting findings promptly. NYSDOH license is required, ASCP preferred, with 1 year of clinical lab experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate analysis following standard techniques.
• Utilizes established quality control procedures to ensure reliable results.
• Maintains instruments and equipment in good working condition and documents maintenance.
• Keeps accurate records of work using designated computer systems.
• Compares test results to pre-established criteria to determine reportability.
• Recognizes and communicates unusual results to the supervisor for prompt reporting.
• Monitors supplies and reagents; reports shortages to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Participates in technical projects to expand and improve service.
• Demonstrates procedures for students and technicians under supervision.
• Attends in-service training to improve knowledge and skills.
• Complies with infection control and safety procedures.
