Job summary

Keck Medicine of USC Arcadia Hospital is seeking a phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, collect specimens, and support clerical tasks in the clinical and anatomic pathology areas.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) with preferred college coursework in biological sciences or chemistry and at least one year in a clinical lab or pathology setting. BLS certification and California CPTI/CPTII are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum - High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred - Two years of college with a major in biological sciences, chemistry or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience in a clinical laboratory or anatomic pathology lab preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and specimen collection with proper labeling and paperwork.
• Procures clinical specimens including bone marrow and other procedures as required.
• Maintains asepsis/antisepsis and supports quality control in the department.
• Provides clerical support in the laboratory offices and handles phone communications.
