Job summary

Labcorp in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Team Leader to oversee daily operations in a high-volume lab. You will supervise staff, ensure quality, and collaborate with management to optimize workflows.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science and 4+ years of lab testing experience, with ASCP/AMT certifications preferred and supervisory experience a plus. Excellent communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 4+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP and/or AMT certifications preferred.
• 6 months or more of supervising or leading a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervisor with the day to day operations of the department/lab.
• Send daily, weekly and monthly production reports to management.
• Assist with training of new hires and development of current employees.
• Keep supervisor informed of group progress, problems and performance.
• Determine acceptability of specimens for testing according to criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results for quality patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
