Job summary

Labcorp in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Team Leader to oversee daily operations and lead a dedicated laboratory team. The role involves ensuring accurate test results, supervising staff, and maintaining compliance with SOPs.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science or medical technology and at least four years of clinical lab experience. ASCP/AMT certifications are preferred, with overtime flexibility as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical/biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
  • 4+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the supervisor with the day-to-day operations of the Department/Lab Name department.
  • Send daily, weekly and monthly production reports to management.
  • Assist with training of new hires and development of current employees.
  • Keep supervisor informed of group progress, problems, employee performance and any significant factors affecting responsibilities.
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
ASCP and/or AMT Certifications

LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Team Leader to join our team at our facility in Raleigh, NC. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the supervisor with the day to day operations of the Department/Lab Name department

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
  • 4 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASCP and/or AMT Certifications
  • 6 months or more of supervising or leading a team
Additional Job Standards
  • In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
  • Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
  • Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
  • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Benefits
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
