Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join the clinical laboratory team. You will receive and log incoming specimens, verify labeling and orders, and accession samples in the LIS to ensure accurate patient tracking and timely processing.

You will prep specimens, sort by test type, and assist with routine lab support tasks while maintaining HIPAA compliance and safety standards. This role supports fast-paced, team-oriented operations at our NJ facility.

Qualifications

• Follows standard operating procedures for receiving and processing specimens.
• Proficient in data entry and LIS usage.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Receive and log incoming specimen shipments from multiple carriers.
• Verify specimen labeling and accompanying test orders for accuracy.
• Accession specimens in LIS and link to patient/test orders.
• Sort specimens by department or test type and prioritize.
• Prepare specimens for testing (aliquoting, labeling, etc.).
• Communicate discrepancies or urgent specimens to lab staff.
