Job summary

Abbott in Redwood City, CA seeks a Supervisor, Clinical Laboratory to lead day-to-day operations in the Cancer Diagnostics division. You will supervise staff, ensure CLIA/CAP/OSHA compliance, and partner with leadership to manage testing performance and quality.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, 4+ years in high-complexity testing, and US work authorization. Monday–Friday shift with opportunities to develop a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology science.
• 4+ years of experience including high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory setting.
• 2+ years in a role with progressively increasing responsibilities, such as quality control, lead technologist, or technical specialist.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• 1+ years of laboratory supervision experience (preferred).
• 6+ years of experience to include high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory setting (preferred).
• Certification from ASCP or equivalent; LIS experience and quality management knowledge (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Ensure laboratory compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA and other applicable laws and regulations.
• Provide supervision to laboratory staff and ensure competency development.
• Monitor quality control and proficiency testing; maintain testing accuracy and reliability.
• Oversee test procedures and establish laboratory performance characteristics.
• Manage departmental budget and supply/expense controls.
