Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care in Hermiston, Oregon is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our hospital laboratory team. You will perform clinical testing across microbiology, chemistry, hematology, serology, and blood bank, maintain logs and records, and interpret results with precision.

Requirements include MLS (ASCP) or equivalent, graduation from an accredited MLS program, and at least one year of hospital lab experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical laboratory science program.
• MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
• Minimum one year clinical/hospital lab experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform heavy laboratory tasks.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing across multiple departments.
• Maintain logs, binders, and records per governing agency.
• Provide technical guidance and instruction to students, interns, residents, staff, and other employees.
• Interpret results with in-depth knowledge of techniques and instrumentation.
