Job summary

Samaritan Health Services seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform clinical testing in the Lebanon, OR laboratory and to support a designated section of the lab. The role requires MLS route eligibility and certification within one year of hire, plus at least two years of MLS/MLT experience.

Responsibilities include quality assurance, compliance monitoring, and contributing to staff education. This on-site position supports hospital operations 24/7 within the LCH Laboratory.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be actively following or have completed a Medical Laboratory Scientist approved route to meet eligibility criteria for certification.
• ASCP, AMT or equivalent certified Medical Laboratory Scientist required within one year of hire.
• Two (2) years Medical Laboratory Scientist and/or Medical Laboratory Technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical testing in assigned areas of the laboratory to aid in diagnosis, patient status, and health insights.
• Specializes and/or assumes responsibility for a specific section of the laboratory.
• Participates in quality assurance and compliance activities.
• Communicates findings and supports training and education of staff.
