Job summary

St. Francis Medical Center in Los Angeles is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform waived to high-complexity tests, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include following CLIA procedures, quality control, instrument maintenance, and reporting results; active ASCP/CLS credentials are preferred. This is a full-time hospital lab role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology required.
• Minimum one year post-baccalaureate clinical training as a CLS, or equivalent experience.
• Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived to high-complexity tests per CA CLIA codes.
• Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions.
• Ensure accuracy of patient results before reporting.
• Assist in maintenance and calibration of instruments.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.
