Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experience (CLIA 42CFR493.1489).
• Equivalent education evaluated by credentialing agency deemed equivalent to US Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complicated laboratory procedures in the assigned section.
• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Cross-trains to other laboratory sections as needed.
• Ensures adherence to the laboratory quality control program.
• Calculates, enters, and verifies results; utilizes the Laboratory Information System.
• Notifies and documents critical laboratory values.
• Collects, handles, and distributes patient specimens with appropriate volume considerations.
• Participates in evaluating, developing, and implementing testing procedures and protocols.
• Demonstrates competence in patient care responsibilities aligned to population needs.
• Adheres to CHRISTUS Health CORE values and compliance policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
