Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist 2 for the night shift. This role performs and monitors a full range of lab tests and research, with responsibility for quality control and instrument maintenance under minimal supervision.

The successful candidate reports test results accurately, maintains supplies, and communicates effectively with laboratory personnel and external customers, while participating in projects and educational activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of work experience above minimum qualification.
• Less than 1 year of experience.
• ASCP certifications from recognized bodies (see list in posting).

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests in accordance with department procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Follows quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Performs instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Accurately reports test results.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication with laboratory personnel and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
• Demonstrates and educates laboratory methods and technical skills to others.
