Job summary

Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, Texas, is seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist I (MLS/MT/MLT) to join our clinical laboratory team. The role requires attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care.

The ideal candidate will have ASCP certification (or equivalent) preferred, a bachelor’s degree in a health science field, and licensure where required.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification, or equivalent, preferred.
• One year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required.
• Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions.
• Interpret lab test results and identify abnormalities to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing; calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results; input data into the laboratory information system.
• Ensure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology
