Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans, LA seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our dedicated laboratory team. You will ensure specimens are processed and tested accurately, perform gram stains, serology, antibody detection, and blood component preparation, while maintaining strict safety and QA practices.

You will work with state licensure requirements, operate and troubleshoot instruments, document quality controls, and support orientation of new staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a Clinical Lab Generalist license (CLG or CLS) with the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Work shift: Variable hours in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Ensure specimens received by the laboratory are acceptable for testing and prepare reagents, controls, and records.
• Label, accession and distribute specimens while maintaining patient identification integrity.
• Perform gram stains and other wet and dry preparations for bacteriology and parasitology; ABORH typing, antibody detection and serology procedures.
• Prepare blood components with aseptic technique and storage.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain laboratory instruments; document in logs.
• Perform quality control analyses, routine studies, and report results within turnaround times.
