Job summary

AdventHealth Tampa is seeking a full-time laboratory professional to perform pre-analytic tasks, specimen collection, and routine processing with strict adherence to SOPs. You will conduct post-analytic reporting, assist with proficiency testing, and support education for clinical staff.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a medical laboratory field and strong attention to detail, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Technical proficiency in laboratory testing procedures and processes.
• Ability to adhere to compliance and confidentiality policies.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to maintain equipment and records; perform quality assessments.
• Ability to educate and train new staff in medical laboratory settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-analytic activities: equipment maintenance, checks, inventory, specimen collection and processing.
• Perform analytic testing and post-analytic reporting per SOPs.
• Participate in proficiency testing and comply with regulations.
• Potentially mentor or precept new staff and students.
• Support education of clinical staff and ensure safety with PPE and hazardous materials.
• Contribute to performance improvement initiatives and evaluate new techniques.
