Job summary

Qualifications

• 3 months experience in a clinical laboratory setting, registration, medical terminology as may be gained through training or degree program.
• Preferred: Laboratory training program or degree in clinical sciences.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients and enters test orders into LIS accurately to ensure proper testing and charges.
• Verifies specimen IDs and prepares specimens per procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness and supplies for efficient lab operations.
• Answers phones, faxes reports, and handles send-outs.
• Operates and maintains instrumentation and troubleshoots issues.
• Mentors MLA students in specimen processing per WPAHS policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
